As we come to the end of another wonderful year at Marcel Digital, we wanted to recap some of the highlights as we finish 2022 strong and throw ourselves into 2023:
A year of growth
Growth can be measured in many ways. We first look at growth through the lens of our clients. We are honored to be a key component in the growth of our clients' business. Our strategies and initiative, coupled with our integration and processes, have created true partnerships. Marcel clients are reporting record years of growth and we are committed to celebrating more growth in 2023.
We're also excited to say we’ve grown, and we’ve grown in a big way. Growth is an essential initiative to ensure we are providing world-class resources to each of our clients as Marcel continues to change the idea of what an agency is and can be.
This has resulted in us growing the team by 40% this year, whilst maintaining our very high staff retention ~90%. We added incredible new team members to every one of our service lines, added our first graduate marketing associate cohort, and built out our Project Management team to better service our clients.
Growth may also be measured by our go to market strategies. Concerns continue to circulate around our economy. At Marcel, there is no better way to spend more efficiently than to invest in your analytics. Marcel has been a Google Analytics Certified Partner for over 10 years. Our job is to grow our clients bottom line in the most efficient way possible, not grow our own business.
Return to in-person philanthropy
One of our three goals at Marcel is to give back and help our communities where we can. This year we have contributed roughly $140,000 in time to a range of organizations including Erie House, HELP Catholic Charity, Rush ‘Adopt a Family’, Streetwise and many others. We have provided our expertise to a number of deserving causes, helping them improve both their SEO and Paid efforts as well as providing a number of donations to charities.
We plan to continue charitable contributions with another full year of events planned out for our team to take part in 2023. We truly believe the difference we can make together and want to keep this momentum going in the new year.
Our first Marketing Associate Cohort
An exciting first at Marcel Digital happened this year with the on-boarding of our first year graduate cohort. We developed this program to closely partner with select schools in the midwest to attract and hire top talent before graduation. We now have the ability to mold our talent without needing to eliminate any bad habits.
The four new team members jumped right in and are already providing a huge amount of value to both internal projects as well as client work. Each brings a unique skill set coming from a range of backgrounds including analytics, computer science, and marketing & communication.
Next year will be a big year for the group!
All the babies
We had a record three babies born this year across the team - Sarah (Director, PMO) was up first with Everett arriving in March. Then we had Dan Kipp (Director, Analytics) leading the numbers game with twins born in October.
We are delighted to be in a position to support our team as their families grow and we work together to ensure they have sufficient time away from work with their new family members. Our supportive parental leave policy has certainly helped with that coupled with a team that pulls together to help each other out with a sincere understanding of what matters most.
What's all the hard work without taking a moment to reflect and celebrate the moment? This year, we took the entire team for a couple of days of rest and relaxation on Lake Geneva (Wisconsin, not Switzerland). It was a great way to get everyone together and to have all our people from different states fly in to get to be a part of the in-person celebration and create new memories with the Marcel crew.
Looking to the future - 2023 and beyond
As we wind down for the break over the holidays, we are building up for another big year. Our plans are in place, we have an amazing team, incredible clients, and we are ready to go! Ever improving data will lead us to even more efficient application of our strategies. Development processes and integration with services will continue to be refined. We will continue giving our time to support great causes in our community, and we want to continue to foster the environment where our people can thrive, work with other great people, and grow on both a professional and personal level.
Whilst we don’t know everything that 2023 will have in store, we are excited to tackle it together, as a team.
