Marcel Digital's 2023 Predictions

Kyle Brigham kicks off the year with four key digital marketing predictions for 2023. From increased automation in paid search and new GA4 features, to the rise of ChatGPT and growing focus on data privacy and warehousing, these trends will shape the year ahead. 

Hey everyone, Kyle here from Marcel Digital. Happy New Year! I want to kick off the year right with a few predictions that our team believes are going to be some of the things you should be thinking about in 2023.

Number one, paid search will become more automated.There is going to be a ton more new features and tools to help with optimizations, creating dynamic ads, and landing pages. There’s going to be a lot of ways you’re going to be able to streamline your paid search in the future. However, it will still require expertise and help to make sure that you’re getting the most out of those features and optimizations.

Number two, those GA4 forms will be turned upside down as Google continues to release new features and reports for GA4. GA44 actually lends itself to more powerful engagement and traffic reporting than UA ever could. It’s going to continue to grow and it’s going to become a big part of your life that people are going to love in 2023. That being said, Google may push back the dates slightly of the sun setting of GA3 to allow for a more clear migration path for some of those folks that are a little late to the party but please move as quickly as possible on migrating the GA4 because you're going to experience the benefits much much sooner the sooner you make the jump.

Number three, ChatGPT will continue to grow in popularity and a lot of folks are going to find a lot of really creative ways to use it in the future. That being said, search engines are going to continue to become smarter to make sure that AI-generated content does not dominate the search results so be mindful of how you use it. Keep coming up with those awesome ways to use it but just be careful about how you use it from an SEO perspective.

And number four, more organizations are going to look into data warehouses in managing their data and making sure that they're compliant with some of the regulations coming out like GDPR, the CCPA, and more recently the American Data Privacy and Protection Act which is probably going to see some momentum here in 2023. So with data warehouses, folks have more control over how the data is gathered and how it's manipulated and moving forward they can make sure that they're being compliant with these regulations that are coming out.

So there you have it, there's four quick predictions from us here at Marcel. I hope that those help. We'll see how 2023 goes but in the meantime we're excited to see what it brings and we're excited to see how our predictions pan out. Happy New Year.
